Gloves' hands-free light helpful in emergencies
RunLites gloves were featured as a practical emergency preparedness tool in an exhibit at the 2015 Mid-Atlantic Emergency Preparedness & Survival Expo (MAPSE) on Aug. 15-16 in Myersville, Md.
While RunLites gloves were initially developed and created for runners, they have been used for a wider range of outdoor enthusiasts and those concerned with night safety. The hands-free light the gloves provide is useful in any low-light situation. The palm side of the glove has additional emergency preparation benefits: a pocket for a key, change or additional light batteries, as well as patented Safe T straps that allow for the attachment of aerosol repellents to aid in personal safety and security.
The Mid-Atlantic Emergency Preparedness & Survival Expo (MAPSE) was created to enhance survival skills and build knowledge on skills and products offered for those who want to be prepared in a catastrophic event. The two-day event included a variety of exhibitors, including everything from practical emergency preparedness gear and tools to water purification systems; and several speakers on topics ranging from wilderness survival to nuclear, biological and chemical defense.
The 2015 keynote speaker was Jay Blevins, an author, speaker and prepper. Blevins has appeared on National Geographic Channel’s hit series Doomsday Preppers, Access Hollywood Live, The Steve Harvey Show, The Today Show and CNN Headline news’ Jane Velez-Mitchell show. He has been interviewed on dozens of syndicated and major market radio and web programs, and has been covered by major domestic and international print media outlets to include the Washington Post, USA Today, and Agence France Press.
RunLites plans to exhibit at similar events in the future.
